Intravenous (IV) nutrition is a method of feeding vitamins, minerals, and other natural substances directly into a patient’s bloodstream. Bypassing the digestive system is the main advantage of IV nutrition. When substances are given orally they must be processed through the stomach and the intestines. Many substances may be rendered inactive in the digestive tract, or may not be well absorbed due to poor intestinal function. By directly administering nutrients to the body higher than normal blood levels can be achieved. These increased levels can provide an immediate therapeutic response by correcting deficiencies that may arise from a disease state.
EDTA Chelation Therapy
Cardiovascular (heart) and cerebrovascular disease (brain), and generally atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries in any vascular bed, can be improved by chelation therapy. The long-awaited TACT Trial, which was a 10 year trial funded by the NIH, showed conclusively that chelation therapy lowered risk of heart attacks and strokes, angina, and need for surgery or hospitalization from cardiovascular disease. This is shaking up the mainstream medical world since it may make cardiac stents and bypasses a thing of the past. IV EDTA chelation therapy can save thousands of dollars in medical expenses by just avoiding one hospitalization.
Nutrient status is the cornerstone of anti-aging medicine. Each micronutrient plays an indispensable role in promoting optimal cell function. When some cells do not function at their best, the foundation of our health is compromised, setting the stage for the development of the disease. Identifying and correcting nutritional deficiencies is an important step in the long-term maintenance of optimal health. Diseases such as chronic fatigue, migraines and other chronic pain syndromes, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases are just a few of the diseases that respond well to IV therapy.
To detect which nutrients your body may be deficient in, we offer a comprehensive Micronutrient Lab test to determine which specific vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other micronutrients may be lacking. In addition, we check for heavy metal toxicity since toxins from our environment can impair many bodily functions on the cellular level.
Scientific research has demonstrated that a variety of conditions can benefit from the use of IV nutrition. A few of the conditions that may be helped using IV nutrition techniques include hypertension, COPD, asthma, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, hepatitis, and even the common cold.
The Myer’s Cocktail is an intravenous vitamin-and-mineral formula for the treatment of a wide range of clinical conditions. The modified “Myers’ cocktail,” which consists of magnesium, B vitamins, Calcium, and vitamin C, has been found to be effective against acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, cardiovascular disease, and other disorders.
The Myer’s Cocktail can be very useful in situations where oral nutrients or other therapies are not working. When nutrients are given intravenously, your digestive system is bypassed and a much higher level of nutrition can be delivered directly to your cells via the bloodstream. The nutrients then kick-start those cells which are performing below par. The general effect of a Myers Cocktail intravenous therapy appears to be a marked improvement in the energy capacity and function of cells. If your cells can function at their best, it’s more likely you can recover from a serious health problem.
Glutathione is a very simple molecule that is produced naturally all the time in your body. It is a combination of three simple building blocks of protein or amino acids—cysteine, glycine and glutamine.
The secret of its power is the sulfur (SH) chemical groups it contains. Sulfur is a sticky, smelly molecule. It acts like fly paper and all the bad things in the body stick onto it, including free radicals and toxins like mercury and other heavy metals. It is a major antioxidant as a free radical scavenger and an essential component of phase two liver detoxification. Normally glutathione is recycled in the body—except when the toxic load becomes too great. The good news is that your body produces its own glutathione. The bad news is that poor diet, pollution, toxins, medications, stress, trauma, aging, infections and radiation all deplete your glutathione. This can leave you susceptible to unrestrained cell disintegration from oxidative stress, free radicals, infections and cancer. As your glutathione depletes, your liver gets overloaded and damaged, making it unable to do its job of detoxification properly. Excellent results across a variety of conditions, including serious chronic diseases such as Parkinson’s Disease, severe toxicity, liver disease, MS, central nervous system damage, kidney disease and cardiovascular disease, have been seen.
High Dose Vitamin C
Intravenous high dose Vitamin C has proven to effectively treat many conditions including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. IV Vitamin C has a much greater effect on immune enhancement than the conventional oral Vitamin C administration. In addition, high levels of Vitamin C in the blood cause production of hydrogen peroxide, a known toxin to cancer cells.
This IV is given for those whose iron levels are low enough to cause a decline in daily energy and life. Too low iron is dangerous due to lack of oxygen being carried to vital cells in the brain, heart and other organs. I look for Ferritin levels to be 60-100, but those whose levels are below 25 may need Iron through an IV.
